The Historic Stone House has been offering American hospitality under a variety of owners since the doors opened in 1822. Today this tradition continues in the Restaurant, Tavern, Inn, and most recently the Butcher & Provisions Shop. Travelers visit from around the world to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater which is nearby, north of Ohiopyle State Park, another popular attraction. Fort Necessity, where young George Washington fought his first battle sits a few miles away. The National Pike (US Rt 40) was our country's first national highway spanning from Cumberland, MD to Wheeling, WV opening the west for expansion as our country grew from coast to coast.
Today, Chef Jeremy Critchfield puts his heart and soul into his culinary wizardry. His love for meats evolved from his time with his Grandfather. Over the years he has delighted thousands in his restaurant at the Stone House and other establishments around the country. Recently his dream to open a butcher shop became reality.
